Summary: In the article, the author introduces us to ethnography, which is the study of people and cultures. The author feels it should be included in our writing and bring evidence into the writing on how a student used this to learn about a specific community. The author also mention how this student interviewed several people and notice how by working, the community has united and they al get along. Another thing that the article mentions is how young writer's can figure out a way on what to write about as majority of them struggle. The author feels that ethnography will help us learn more about people and their cultures and realize that we all come from different places.

immediate and first-hand accounts of island life." (81) Interviewing people can help you learn about where they come from and their perspective of where they are from and how life is like.

early semester scenario." (82) The author knows that the freshmen's aren't fully capable of writing well written paper and using ethnography in it.
