Summary: In this article titled, "Ways of Seeing" by John Berger, we are introduced to Berger's idea of publicity images. He introduces us to seven essays and these seven essays aren't your common three page essays where you have to write about something in five paragraphs or more, these essays involve only images or images with a few words. By looking at the images we are trying to find the hidden message and how we prefer certain images because it's something we can relate to. Berger also mentions how publicity images don't have to be just pictures, but it can also be sculptures and paintings. In conclusion publicity is very important to our culture and without it, we would be living in a very strange and different society.

1. "Publicity is the culture of the consumer society." (140) Everything that people do today is for publicity and it's something that's been a thing for a while whether it's drama, commercials or pictures.
2. "The state of being envied is what constitutes glamour." (131) We all desire something and we see people have qualities that we wish we can have as well.
3. "It is true that in publicity one brand of manufacture, one firm, competes with another; but it is also true that every publicity image confirms and enhances every other." (131) Publicity competes with one another but it all increases other publicity which is how it cycles around.
